Curious Cubs Investigate Man in Hammock

I was hanging out in my hammock under the airplane I was flying, parked on the beach at Brooks Camp in Katmai National Park in Alaska. These spring bear cubs had been running from airplane to airplane on the beach stealing float plugs while following their mom towards the river. We had been wondering for years where the float plugs had been disappearing to and had ended up tethering them to save them (they're worth $20 each). This time I caught them by surprise!
