I've been spending a lot of time exploring new kinds of 3D fractals called mandelbox and Mandelbulbs. Two free programs from users on FractalForums.com allow you to navigate these amazing mathematical spaces and record he results.
This vid is a transformation of the fractal formulas, rather than a zoom into finer details or a tour of the intricate shapes.
